What is Pixels & Objects?
Pixels & Objects is an idea that’s been on my mind for a very long time and it’s great to finally have it up and running. After a few posts that acted as a soft launch it is now time to turn this site into a real project. I’m sure things will be a little bit different than what I have imagined but my intention is that this site will be a nice guide to all the good pixels and objects that I read about and/or use myself.
So what’s up with the name? It might be a bit cryptic, but .com domains that aren’t are hard to find. Pixels refers to digital stuff, like applications, websites or games. Objects are physical things that you can use, wear, or work with. Some of the stuff covered here will be something I use myself and other posts will be about interesting things that I don’t want, don’t need or can’t get for myself. The goal is to keep the posts pretty short in general.
Who’s writing?
Pixels & Objects is a one-man project right now and it’s made by me, Markus. I spend quite a bit of my free time reading about gear that makes life easier and more fun, and this site is my way of sharing the good stuff I come across. Maybe there will be other people added to the writing staff in the future. I’d love that but we’ll see how things play out.
What will you be covering?
Most posts will be about new releases but I will also write about great stuff that’s been on the market for a while. If something is amazing then it deserves recognition no matter how long it has been available. What types of pixels and objects to cover will be up to the writers. I will only cover stuff that interests me personally but if I add more people to the staff later then they might have other interests that could broaden the set of categories. To give you a hint of things to come, here are a few statements by me:
- Travel is a true passion and packing the bags like a pro is a part of the fun.
- Apple and everything that revolves around it is the universe that I feel truly at home in.
- I’m very serious about coffee and I try out pretty much every imaginable way of brewing it to perfection.
- Minimalism is the way to go and if there’s a short USB-cable available then that is the right USB-cable.
- You can never own too many bags.
